Romans 5:1, 2 (Msg) "By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that's not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise."
What an incredible word picture this is, and what an awe-inspiring thought. "By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us." What God has always wanted to for us. Imagine that. God was waiting around for Eternity for you and I to make the decision to enter through faith so that He could doe what He has always wanted to do, to make us right with Him and fit for Him. That's how much He loves us.
And I love the next part; "We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise." He has already thrown open His door to us, and we find ourselves in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory. Standing tall, no longer hunched over from the burden of sin and this world. When we turn to God through Christ, we find Him there waiting for us. He pursued us, not the other way around.
Father, I am humbled and awed by your love. Thank you for reconcilling me to you through Christ. I love you Jesus,
Amen
